In 2018 I wrote a blog about creating cartoons for stained glass called The Cartoon, as I had been working on the full sized original artwork that formed the design for The Illumination Window at Durham Cathedral. The resulting window was installed in 2019.

You can now see a short clip from my monumental cartooning stage on the project page for Durham Cathedral.

In the film I am working with a spraygun, with the wall as my easel, building up the design for the tracery lights at the top of the window.

I was preparing the original graphic for the window - and the glasswork to follow had not yet begun!
